Free Experian Credit Monitoring For 12 Months -- Via MSN Money (First 10,000 Subscribers)

Update: 10,000 subscribers have joined. Thus, the deal has expired. MSN Money is offering free Experian credit monitoring to the first 10,000 people who sign up through its Web site. The offer is being made so that MSN and Experian can raise awareness about the importance of credit monitoring. There are, according to MSN, no strings attached. You simply sign up and enjoy your benefits for a year.

Anyhow, get your free credit monitoring while it lasts. It's good for Experian monitoring only. And you will also have access to your Experian PLUS score. The offer is good starting today and ends February 28, 2009 (or until 10,000 subscriptions have been given away). If you want access to all three credit bureaus, the cost is $19.95 (no thanks). Good luck.

Here is what you'll receive as part of your free credit-monitoring:

CM, thanks! How long after you verify your email address do you get the email confirming registration?

I have a gmail account. It was very fast. If you use a hotmail address, or something like that, it can take much longer.

I would have guessed using an MS (hotmail) email address would be the quickest!

Thanks CM

Sweet! I signed up and got a confirmation email. They are now saying that I will get another email once my request is processed!

Thanks for the heads up, CM, I can really use this.

All signed up. Also want to report that my email went to my Gmail "spam" box too. Just an FYI..if you use Gmail, check there!

Thanks for the heads up on the gmail notification hitting the spam box.

Thanks Marcus. I have just signed up and checked out my file. The promo code did go into my spam gmail file...so watch out! I actually thought I was doing worse, it wasn't that bad. My "PLUS" score was much higher than credit karma. Is the Plus score similar to FICO? I do have some questions but I can't ask them here. The questions are related to my BK back in 2005 and how some accounts are reporting.

Cosmo, PLUS is a fake score. Ignore it. On my site here at CreditMattersBlog.com I have written about that score. It should be used for educational purposes only.

Search PLUS and Educational on my site.

My PLUS score is 783 at TU, and 771 at EQ and EX. It's interesting. Nothing more.

clutchcargo said...

Cosmo, My "PLUS" score is about 70 points lower then my Credit Karma, but 2 points from my PFICO

For what it's worth.

CreditMattersBlog.com said...

And just remember that PLUS scores range from 330-830.

CreditMattersBlog.com said...

And PFICO is 250-900.

Just signed up and got a code. Thanks, CM!

Right, wax apples to plastic oranges (except for the real deal PFICO)

Clutch, nice analogy. Perfect.

And yes about PFICO (Bankcard Industry Option FICO score). Very real.

DM, excellent.

Credit Matters:

You got Plus scores from TU and EQ, also?

CreditMattersBlog.com said...

No. I get my PLUS scores from CreditSecure, the service that we get through American Express.

TheVibeRAIDER said...

Is the CreditSecure PLUS score the same as the Experian PLUS score?

CreditMattersBlog.com said...

Yes. Same exact scores, Virgil. These are the scores that were developed by Experian.

Thank you, CM.

Nothing unusual in my credit reports. I just realized I did have Citi and Capital One.

That was last century, no wonder I didn't remember. LOL!

LOL. Nice.
